Laser Scan

Safety first when operating in very narrow aisles. Turret trucks in narrow aisle are designed to be productive. Narrow aisles are dedicated to these vehicles. Pedestrians and / or other vehicles should not be admitted to the working aisle.

Although such restrictions are normally followed it is always possible that the unlikely may occur. The operator of such equipment should be well versed in operator and vehicle safety.

To assist the operator with such safety the pedestrian or obstacle laser detection system mounted to face and scan both travel directions can aid in the detection of travel obstacles.

The scanners are programmed to sense only the narrow working aisle 30 - 45 feet in front of the active travel direction. If an obstacle is encountered the vehicle is slowed and ultimately brought to a halt automatically.
